Fractional CFO & Controller Services

Corporate-grade finance, sized for your business.

I bring the financial discipline of large, complex companies — clean books, a reliable close, and clear numbers leadership can act on — to businesses that have outgrown their bookkeeping.

When owners call me

The numbers stopped keeping up with the business.

Growth exposes the limits of part-time bookkeeping. The signs are usually the same — and they rarely fix themselves.

Books you can't trust — and can't get on time

Transactions land in the wrong place and categories drift, so every report needs a caveat. And last month's numbers show up weeks late — too slow to act on, and never quite final.

No one above the bookkeeper

You have someone recording transactions, but no one owning accuracy, structure, or what the numbers actually mean.

Flying without instruments

Big decisions get made on instinct because the numbers can't tell you what you'd actually be able to afford.

No view of what's ahead

There's no budget to measure against and no forecast to see what's coming — so you're always reacting to last month instead of planning for the next one.

What I do

Three levels of financial support, one engagement.

Most owners aren't sure whether they need clean books, sharper planning, or a strategic partner. I diagnose that first, then deliver the right level — layered over the providers you already use.

Fractional Controller

Get the books right and keep them right.

The rigor underneath good decisions: accurate categorization, a close you can rely on, and oversight of the people doing the day-to-day work.

  • Fix categorization and clean up the general ledger
  • Establish a dependable monthly close
  • Oversee bookkeeping and transactional providers
  • Build reporting that's accurate by default
FP&A

See where the numbers are headed.

Budgeting and forecasting that turn historical results into a forward view — so you can plan cash, test decisions, and spot variances before they become problems.

  • Annual budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Cash-flow planning and scenario modeling
  • Budget-to-actual variance analysis
  • KPIs and dashboards that track what matters
Fractional CFO

Turn clean numbers into direction.

Strategic financial leadership: the board-ready reporting, financing relationships, and forward planning that guide where the business goes next.

  • Reporting for owners, boards, and lenders
  • Banking and financing relationships
  • Strategic and long-range planning
  • Positioning the business for growth or a future transaction

How it works

Understand. Diagnose. Stabilize. Build forward.

I sit above your existing providers as an oversight layer — not a replacement for the work that's already getting done well. Every engagement starts the same way, then bends to what your business actually needs.

01

Understand

Your business, your goals, how finance runs today, and what's on the horizon. We get clear on where you're trying to go before touching anything.

02

Diagnose

A focused review of your books, close process, and reporting to see what's working, what isn't, and where the real gaps are.

03

Stabilize

Correct what's broken and put reliable basics in place: accurate records, a close you can count on, and reporting you can trust without a second look.

04

Build forward

With the foundation solid, add the forward-looking layer — budgets, forecasts, and the analysis that turns numbers into decisions you can act on.

05

Steward

An ongoing rhythm of close, report, and advise — keeping the numbers reliable and the picture current as the business grows.

I'm Victor Manzano, founder of Manzano Fractional Finance. My career started in audit at a global public accounting firm and grew through senior finance roles at PE-backed and privately held, founder-run businesses spanning electronics component manufacturing, architectural lighting, and aviation services.

Along the way I've led finance and accounting functions through both buy- and sell-side M&A transactions, strengthened banking relationships and access to capital, improved bank compliance reporting, and rebuilt close processes and finance teams from the ground up.

Now I bring that same discipline to owners who need it part-time — pairing the structure of a controller with the perspective of a CFO.
